GUIDED BY THE EYE:
PHOTOGRAPHY AS A WAY OF SEEING
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP: finding the unexpected in our everyday lives...
NEW WORKSHOPS TO BE SCHEDULED LATER IN 2023
Contact me if interested and to be put on the list for dates
WHAT: Walking with a camera, we can turn off the noise that crowds our brains and become mindfully present in our surroundings, enriching our experience and counteracting everyday stress. As we edit the photos, we uncover connections between the visual environment and our own internal landscape.
Through this process, the hidden becomes visible.
Workshops include: guided by the eye photo walk; space to upload selected images for response; interactive exploration of the images’ resonance; online display space.
WHEN: TBA:
After a brief introduction for anyone who hasn't experienced Guided by the Eye before, we will shoot on a curated photo walk.
WHERE: TBA,
WHO:
YOU: Are interested in mindfulness, deepening consciousness, photography, relaxation, Long Beach, conservancy, storytelling.
ME: I have always integrated photography into my life and work. In addition to photo workshops, at CSULB I teach in the School of Education, where my classes prepare future elementary teachers to use the arts in their own classrooms. My passion is moving the arts from the sidelines to center stage.
HOW: Your camera doesn’t have to be fancy but should have basic features, e.g. zoom. A camera is preferred to a cell phone. It’s useful to have basic photo editing ability, e.g. cropping, exposure.
